Information About Greek Persian Wars

By Helen Stevens

When fighting escalates one of the communities involved suffers a major setback while the other rises above. The Greek Persian Wars involved Greece and Persian Empire who were conflicting over natural resources. It was the first time that Greece worked together to fight their enemy. They were determined to win so that they could gain political power and get more natural resources.

The conflict helped in benefiting Athens after Greece become the winner but these benefits were only short lived sounded the city was left deprived economically and physically. However their democracy was undermined big time and they needed someone to rely on. The people they relied on were not strong enough to face the opponents making the city weaker.

The first time Athens was struck was strong enough to remain unshaken but during the second time they were strong enough and ready to fight back. They worked as in strong force to fight their enemies which gave them victory.as a result positive and negative effects emerged. There was intermarriages which helped in cultural exchange thus preventing more fighting due to culture.

People wanted an end to the inequality in the way natural resources were distributed and that is why they began fighting. Athens had grabbed every natural resource for their benefit which angered non-Athenians. These are some of the major differences that caused the rift. When they fought they were trying to look for equality and making sure that every person gets equal resources.

Delian League was formed after Greece won the battle only that this time it was full of Athenians and anyone who was not of that descent was chased away. The land and natural resources were acquired through corrupt dealings. What one needs to note is that whatever people termed as corruption there was like stealing soldiers and not literally stealing money.

It also involved them using the funds acquired to just help the Athenians and getting land and private property for only people of Athens descent. This therefore means that they must have accumulated a lot of wealth to form their own empire. In most cases even in normal societies there is a thin line between power and corruption which makes people speculate that corruption was on the rise.

Once the fighting was over there are some achievements that came by like innovation of science and mathematics. The goal was to make Athens beautiful therefore architects came up with drawings on how they wanted the city to look like. History writers emerged during this period since they wanted to record what exactly happened when people fought and made plays out of these stories.

The fighting did not just have negative results to the people involved since scientist were in a position to make more discoveries that could help people eat healthier foods. People were now in a position to understand that most deaths occurred naturally. Before people were meant to believe that death was as a punishment from God, a misconception that has been done away with overtime.
