Reasons To Take Organic Tooth Powder Instead Of Toothpastes

By Anthony Schmidt

People have different ways of taking care of their teeth. While some are in support of the use of tooth pastes, others are of the opinion that nothing works better than organic tooth powder. Some others say that distinguishing between the two is of less importance provided they both make the teeth clean after use. Unfortunately, there is a whole lot of difference between these two products and studying them will help so much.

Powders are made more of abrasives and this could be the reason why they are more effective for taking care of plaques. Most tooth pastes on the other hand lack this special feature, which makes it look like a child's play sometimes when scrubbing it on teeth, even with a tooth brush. You may notice this by seeing how slippery pastes are when used alone. It is more convenient to use the powders without a tooth brush than doing the same with a tooth paste.

If you need something affordable and economical, you are encouraged to go for the powders. Powders are cheap to buy because they are packaged in small cups and they are made of only essential ingredients. An example of something you can find in them is mint. Mint is taken to be an antibacterial agent.

Most people who love convenience would prefer tooth powder to tooth pastes. Since they are more abrasive in nature, you don't need to scrub hard to get the work done. You don't need to apply all your effort when cleaning with the powders. This rule does not apply to the use of the paste as it is slippery.

Because the organic powder has no fluoride in it, it is more advisable to use them in families where children have access to mouth washes. This is a vital point to always remember because fluoride is poisonous when swallowed and can kill. Unfortunately, little children do not know this and will not mind licking the pastes if left alone.

If fluoride were the only harmful dangerous element in pastes, then life would have been a little easier. Unfortunately, there are other substances that make the substance still unfit for regular use. One of them is the substance known as triclosan. Triclosan is bad for the endocrine system and water life will suffer when anyone who just used it pours saliva into water bodies.

Tubes of toothpaste also have glycerin that prevents remineralization. This means that it prevents important minerals from forming on the teeth. This is bad because assuming there is a wound on the gum, the teeth will hardly heal since it has something that will prevent natural healing process. On the other hand, powders contain bentonite clay. This substance binds to toxins making them easier to remove. While glycerin prevents the teeth from enjoying some important minerals, bentonite clay supports remineralization.

If you like toothpaste because of the flavor it carries, then you should have a rethink because many of the flavors are not helpful. As a matter of fact, some flavors are only used for their industrial benefit and cannot be encouraged for private use. This is because they cause side effects such as flushing, heart palpitations, weakness, chest pain, and numbness. One of the causes of these side effects is the presence of MSG in flavors. MSG is known to cause these problems, but people fail to realize it because it can take some time for these symptoms to manifest.
